About Protect PDF

Add AES-256 encryption to any PDF before sharing — the same standard used by banks, password managers, and disk encryption. Filenify lets you set an open password (recipient needs it to view the file) and, separately, an owner password that controls whether they can print, copy text, or edit the document even after opening it. Encryption happens in your browser, so the unencrypted file never leaves your device. Store the password somewhere safe — there's no recovery, and that's the whole point. Use it for contracts, medical records, financial statements, or anything that needs a real lock before it hits email.

How Protect PDF works

  1. 1Upload the PDF you want to protect.
  2. 2Set an open password — recipients need this to view the file.
  3. 3Optionally set an owner password with print/copy/edit restrictions.
  4. 4Download the encrypted PDF and share the password securely.
